“My heart is stirred by a noble theme as I recite my verses for the king; my tongue is the pen of a skillful writer.” - Psalm 45:1

~*~ Facts & Fun Stuff ~*~

Growing up: I’m a southern girl, born & raised in Louisiana.
No swamps, though, or gators! Just delicious home cooking
(a skill that, sadly, I did not inherit! haha !)  country music, church revivals, and a close knit circle of family and friends.  Despite my country roots,  (and while I still love apple pie and horseback riding like a good little G.R.I.T.S!) I have a  passionate love for all things “girlie” - bring on the stores!  The shoes! The purses!

Today:
I’ve been married to my sweetheart of a hubby for four years now. I work full time and write every spare chance I get! We also just discovered we’re expecting our first baby in July 2008! A little girl =)

Hobbies: When I’m not writing or working, I enjoy singing, reading, shopping for shoes (especially ones with polka dots!) and spending time with my husband, family and friends. I’ve always had a soft spot for animals, especially dogs and horses. My husband and I own a champion black lab named Samson—he’s a genius! (okay, I might be a LITTLE biased…) =)

History: I’ve been writing in some form since I was seven
years old. I found some of  my old childhood, hand-written
stories the  other day, and spent a good hour giggling at
myself! It’s fun to see how I’ve grown over the years. And I still have a LONG way to go!

I write monthly non-fiction articles on the subjects of faith and marriage for www.crosswalk.com, and had a short story published in a book called “Praise Reports: Inspiring Real Life Stories of How God Still Answers Prayer”, by Xulon press.  I also sold a humorous poem on writers block to the magazine The Christian Communicator, published in their February 2007 issue.

More news!

I recently signed with an agent from Hartline Literary Agency —Tamela Hancock Murray. I can tell we’re a great fit. She’s already got me hard at work! Ha! Also, she’s such an encourager and cheerleader—not to mention an author herself! Check out her website! www.tamelahancockmurray.com

Also, check out my new books under the “My Books” link! I landed a short non fiction story in the book Life Savors for Women, released Spring ‘08 by Tyndale Publishers. Look for “Kickboxing or Chocolate?” in this inspiring, encouraging collection!

Favorites: In the secular world of writing, one of my favorite
authors is Nicholas Sparks. His book
The Notebook will
forever grace the top of my “Favorite Books” chart! In
inspirational fiction, I have too many  favorites to list, but I’ll try to name a few — Dee Henderson, Kristen Heitzmann, Creston Mapes, Kristin Billerbeck, Colleen Coble, Robin Jones Gunn, Deb Raney, Catherine Palmer, Susan May Warren, Brandilyn Collins, Eric Wilson, Rachel Hauck, Melanie Wells...ohh, the list just keeps going! (I read a lot, can you tell?)
